In what is proving to be a busy year for episcopal appointments in the U.S., today the Holy Father appointed His Excellency, Bishop Roger Morin, an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, as the bishop of Biloxi, Mississippi. Bishop Morin is 67 years-old and a native of Massachusetts.
With the appointment of Bishop Morin, there are now six vacant sees in the U.S.: Cheyenne, Wyoming; Duluth, Minnesota; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Oakland, California; Owensboro, Kentucky; St. Louis, Missouri.
On an unrelated note, due to the fact that is was Sunday, and a busy one, indeed, I missed that yesterday marked the 1,420th anniversary of the death of St. David (Dewi) of Wales. However, Sherry over at Intentional Disciples did not let it pass.
